I have over 25 years of industrial experience in the fine chemicals, agrochemicals and Pharmaceutical fields. Over the last 20 years I have worked in the Pharmaceutical arena where I worked for SmithklineBeecham and AstraZeneca where I was Director of Process Chemistry. Most recently I was Vice President of Chemical Development at AMRI.

During my career I have worked on 4 marketed drugs including process re-development activities on Seroquel and Paxil. During my time at AstraZeneca, my team was responsible for the chemical development of Iressa and Crestor. During my career I have been author or co-author for over 30 publications and patents.

I am fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and a visiting Professor at Bristol University. I am also a member of the Engineering and Physical Science Research Council (EPSRC) Strategic Advisory team.

In 2012 I was Chair of the Gordon Research Conference on Heterocyclic Compounds.
